We are a growing software startup looking for a part-time bookkeeper (20 - 30 hrs weekly, non-exempt) with significant invoicing and collection experience to join our team in Portland, OR. The bookkeeper will report to the VP, Operations and primary responsibility will be for managing invoicing for the Company. The Bookkeeper’s other responsibilities will include managing Expensify, reconciling bank accounts, and general account management (such as AR collections, customer intake, and records management).

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

Accounts receivable and invoicing responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for ensuring customers are invoiced timely and accurately. 

  • Reconcile customer payments in QuickBooks. 

  • Ensure an exceptional client experience. 

  • Ensure accuracy of Accounts Receivable Aging Schedule. 

  • Assist in collecting outstanding invoices under the direction of the VP of CX. 

Company Credit Card and Expensify responsibilities: 

  • Manage employee reimbursements to ensure proper documentation from employees via Expensify. 

  • Ensure employee expense reports properly reconcile to credit card statements and accounting software. 

Other responsibilities: 

  • Process company payroll.  

  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.  

  • Complete required tax forms and payments.  

  • Make deposits and record all cash receipts.  

  • Update weekly cash flow budget. 

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 

  • 3+ years of proven bookkeeping experience. 

  • Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles. 

  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. 

  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills. 

  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records. 

  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software - such as QuickBooks, Bill.com, and Expensify. 

  • SAAS experience is a plus!
